Welcome all to our first newsletter. The purpose of this is to share information with cross stitchers on new sites, activities and various other areas that apply to the cross stitch community. We are open for suggestions, additions and comments about our issue. Much effort has gone into creating this issue and hopefully you will find some points of interest to your liking.

A. MONTHLY August Activities at CROSS STITCH RESOURCES

This month we are having a PILLOW TOPPER Exchange. The time frame to get the topper and to complete it will be due October 1. The price to order the topper and the monogram chart is $7.95 which is rather rasonable compared to just purchasing only the topper. I found two sites that were fun to sit and check out each page.

NOSTALGIA NEEDLE is coming to us from the UK. I consider it very well designed and alot of info coming across the waters to the USA stitchers.
To view the freebies you download, you must have her viewer....and it isn't a memory gobbler. The other charts can be downloaded but you cannot unzip until you pay for them.

LORRAC DESIGNS is a place I got totally immersed in for awhile. She is the designer and has an index of her categories right on the front page. You can start with the index and just keep on going until you are back at the beginning.

Catalog of FINE ARTS is 'the' place to find charts of the masters. Some of the greats--Monet, VanGogh--are shown and their is a chart that goes with the picture that can be purchased.

This area should have at least one good tip each month that we can use to make our stitching earier or maybe even less time consuming or stressful. Here is one I applied to my own UFO's and I am making headway thanks to a friend.
"I think my habit of rotating UFO's and setting a timer/or during the length of a TV show/or during one side of a CD/or some other timing is worthy of passing on. A friend of mine rotates her UFO's by days of the week and she takes Saturday off as her day of rest. LOL Other stitchers may feel overwhelmed by their UFO's and this idea might not have occurred to them." by Another Stitcher
Ever wonder what your chart size will be if you change your stitch count to a different size. Most charts will show the number of stitches in your design but what if it not showing for the count you might want to use. This site has is all laid out for you and describes how to use it.

F. Stitcher's Need Answers

This would be a good place to ask that question you have always wanted an answer. Send them to us and include your email, so you can get that answer directly. We will ask for some of the replies so we can publish the responses received so others may learn.
We are going to put a response here to an O.T. we received regarding ink for your cartridges. We use our printers like crazy when those freebies come out. Right! Ever run out of ink right in the middle and it means starting all over again but wait, you need a new cartridge. OOPs. Fill up your own cartridges and save, save, save. Just think of all the new charts you can buy with that money. Buy the ink in bulk and refill your own cartridges. Contact me at stitchn98@hotmail.com and I will send you the supplier I use and the cost.
Never will you run out of ink, again(I hope).
